“Knowing is the spiritual intelligence of the mind.” Kumazawa Banzan
Definition: Knowing ‘having perceived directly: having direct cognition of’ or ‘having experienced’
Knowing from a spiritual perspective may be considered as knowing who you really are, knowing your ability to create the life you want and knowing that everything that you’ve asked for has been given. The Law of Attraction states that who we really are, the broader part of us is all knowing and that we can experience this inner knowing when our thoughts are in our alignment as that is when we have greatest access to that part of ourselves.
Inner knowing is different to fact-based knowledge as it is an individual, subjective experience that may often have no evidence from the physical senses supporting it.
It may be said that when we have knowing that we are actually seeing the world as it really is, through a non-distorted, pure lens.
Emotion and Knowing
“There can be no knowledge without emotion. We may be aware of a truth, yet until we have felt its force, it is not ours. To the cognition of the brain must be added the experience of the soul.” Arnold Bennett
Knowing is associated with positive feelings and the better we are feeling, the greater access we have to infinite knowledge.
A Spectrum of Knowing
Inner knowing can range from subtle impulses or thoughts to feelings of absolute certainty. For instance at times someone might believe that they can create their life through their thinking and at other times know that they can.
Cultivating Knowing
Meditation is very beneficial for cultivating inner knowing as it quiets the mind and facilitates communication with the source part of ourselves.
